Today’s Featured Expert is Scott Kim, a puzzle designer, innovation coach and educational game designer with a background in music, mathematics, computer science and graphic design. In the puzzle world he focuses on creating original puzzles that challenge and delight every area of the brain, including verbal, spatial, mathematical and visual puzzles, as well as kinesthetic and audio puzzles. He has worked on many puzzle video-games, including Tetris and Bejeweled, created a monthly puzzle column for Discover magazine, and designed physical puzzle toys for ThinkFun. His books including Inversions, a collection of his ambigram lettering art, The Playful Brain, with neuroscientist Richard Restak, Math Dance, with math/dance educator/performers Karl Schaffer and Erik Stern, and The Mind Benders Card Deck. He runs his own company GameThinking.io, which coaches companies around the world in how to test their innovative product ideas before building them. He’s currently writing a book on how to design puzzles.
