Ageism Unmasked: Ending Age Bias with Dr. Tracey Gendron

Dec 27, 2021 | Interview, Living Younger by Changing Aging, Personal Development, Podcast Episode

Have you ever experienced ‘ageism’ ? Throughout my professional career and personal life, I have never been overly concerned about being discriminated against on any basis including my age, but ironically, the day before I recorded my interview with Dr. Tracey Gendron, ageism reared its head and shook me out of complacency. Hear the story on our interview.

Dr. Tracey Gendron is the author of Ageism Unmasked: Exploring Age Bias and How to End It. With Master’s degrees in Gerontology, and in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, Tracey has dedicated her career to raising awareness and ending ageism through education. Dr. Gendron serves as Chair for the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Gerontology and as Acting Director for the Virginia Center on Aging.

Our conversation prompted me to look at many things with a different eye. Have you heard of gerontechnology? I had not thought about ageism in technology till I read her book.
