The Growing Older, Living Younger Project

Loss, Grief Dreams, and Aging Well with Joshua Black PhD.

Nov 23, 2021 | Interview, Mind and Brain, Personal Development, Podcast Episode

We increasingly experience the death of friends and family as we age.  The better we can decrease the stress of these losses, the less impact this will have on our aging trajectory (Joshua Black).

American author, journalist and professor, Norman Cousins writes ‘Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live. “

We all need to not allow joy to die within us when we suffer a loss of a loved one.Yet finding joy again can be hard, seemingly impossible.

In previous episodes we have learned that healing from grief or trauma can happen through many modalities. Something I had not been aware of previously is through grief dreams.

Joshua Black, PhD, is one of the world’s leading academic experts in grief dreams. He is a grief researcher, speaker, consultant, and host of the Grief Dreams Podcast. His work focuses on dreams and continuing bonds after loss.

Do you dream? Have you experienced dreams after loss of a loved one?
